Back in town (florida)

I had the opportunity to film a wedding on Saturday, at the Marriott on Clearwater...I can't wait to share the trailer with everyone!  I also found a new flavor of ice cream I can't seem to say no too...Ben and Jerrys Half Baked.  Oh my!  It's like 1300 calories of heaven and I may or may not have had 3.  I am well aware I have problems in the junk food department lol.  On another note, I decided to juice up an older computer today..for my tech dorks I installed a new GPU and added a lot of SSDs... Shes ready for that 4k workflow.  Flying back to Cincinnati for about 7 week so I'll be hitting the social media game very strong coming up.  I look forward to filming all of those weddings with some wicked drone shots!

I'm back in Cincinnati for several weddings, It's bittersweet to be honest.  It would be less bitter if most weddings weren't in catholic churches.  Wedding photographers and videographers have such a hard time working in these places.  Rules and more rules followed by more rules and a "little mean church lady"  I really think if brides knew the things that were said to us, how we were treated they wouldn't ever get married's such a shame to...these churches are super old and packed with history, the long aisles give us plenty of content when brides walk down the aisle, tons of groom reaction time, and sadly this is always like pulling teeth to get because of all the restrictions.  One day I'll write a book and enlighten everyone the struggle, and the pain....and when I get this published we can all look back on this post; hopefully, we will also be eating tons of reese cups and ice cream while reading said book.  Lots of weddings coming up here in cincinnati, thanks to all the vendors who still refer me and haven't turned their back on the cincy kid :)

What gear do you use come wedding day?

This has been a hot topic for a while.  Wedding vendors and brides ask this question a I put together a fun little video explaining the gear wedding videographers use and most importantly why we use them.  I think the more knowledge we all share, the better our brides will be.  I had a rough hair day.. and it was like 88 degrees that night... so my MAC foundation was a train wreck..... all was filmed in 1 day.

Why do you blog about non wedding stuff?

I had this question from a vendor friend here in Florida a few days ago, and I thought I'd answer this on a blog post.

I feel like we as vendors get to know our couples in and out, and I have never been the one to be the "hired help" come wedding day.  I think a big part of the client/vendor relationship is knowing them outside the wedding industry.  This has made the planning process and day of a lot of fun.  So I decided to make a blog outside of weddings, and when the wedding day starts I am more of a friend than someone with a cool camera.  Brides already know my guilty pleasures are junk food, "pop" even though down here in the Tampa area, this is called "soda"...but we all know its pop lol.

I want brides to know who I am, and the fact I love weddings because I love being able to make my couples look and feel great on camera.  A lot of times weddings can be serious and sometimes I feel brides are out of place... so a simple "whisper something creepy in her ear" during photo's sparks an authentic moment with my couples and those tiny moments are when our work really stands out.  We all know the normal poses that all couples go through and sometimes the unique bond and looks they give each other are missed, the more we know each other and understand each other and most importantly have fun - the better the product and couple are.

To all the brides who have brought me Reese cups, pizza coupons, ice cream coupons and little hand written notes - thank you!  I am glad you have gotten to know me, as I have you...same to the vendors I work with, at the end of the day I am a bloated mess...but it's sooooo worth it!  So, don't be afraid to let your couples know who you really are!

Back to Cincinnati!

I've got another bride up north I get to spoil with a 4k film :)  I fly out in about 7 hours and all that I have had today is burger king, and candy...the life of a big toddler...I just can't say no.  If this was a DARE program I would have failed years ago.  I look forward to coming back to Florida once my trip is up, I'll have a repaired drone and looking for some fun projects using it.  I took a pretty nasty crash in a church steeple a few months ago, I didn't realize there were two of them, the sound of that drone crashing is just horrible.  Lookout Tampa, I'm coming hard next week!  That's all I have for now, it's time to password protect a beauty of a styled shoot that took place at Forty - two ten yesterday!  Just wait

guilty pleasures

Every Sunday is my Burger King rest day.... for any of my current brides they will tell you I am obsessed with Reese cups, pizza and burger king.  I will keep this entry short as I am about to head up to the gym tonight, I found some new tunes on youtube that I have enjoyed working out too.  So, what is everyones favorite "junk food" the kind of food that just clears all the troubles up for you... or the kind that you just can't say no too?

Reese cups? Really?

New website for me, and i want all my couples to know i am obsessed with chocolate.  I can't say no to Reese cups.  It's bad.  I feel them looking at me when I am at the gas station, or walking around wal-mart :)  It's horrible.  I hear everyone has a food like this, besides pizza and diet pop - or "soda" this is mine...also, don't get me started on Ice Cream, brutal.

I created this blog to just show who I am outside of weddings.  Plus, I like when people get to really know me!
